Built From the Inside Out
Daniel Kissell Consulting was founded by someone who has done this work firsthand — not as a generalist HR consultant, but as a specialist who spent years processing health insurance enrollments and offboardings inside a nonprofit HR services organization.
Over hundreds of transactions, one pattern became clear: the nonprofits that struggled most were not large organizations with complex HR departments. They were mid-sized organizations — typically 50 to 200 employees — where HR responsibilities were shared across a small team already juggling multiple priorities.
For those organizations, health insurance enrollment was rarely handled by a dedicated specialist. It was handled by someone doing their best with limited time, limited training, and significant consequences for getting it wrong.
Daniel Kissell Consulting was built to change that — giving California nonprofits access to genuine enrollment expertise at a price that fits a mission-driven budget.
Our Focus
We work exclusively with California nonprofits. We provide exclusively health insurance onboarding and offboarding services. This narrow focus is intentional — every process we follow, every carrier relationship we maintain, and every compliance checkpoint we apply is designed specifically for your context.
We do not offer broad HR outsourcing. We do two things, and we do them well. We onboard new employees to their chosen healthcare plan and we offboard departing employees.
